Connect Perplexity to Ecobot

Perplexity supports custom remote MCP connectors on Pro, Max, and Enterprise. Add Ecobot once in your account Settings and it becomes available as a source in Pro Search and Spaces for citation-first regulatory answers.

Ecobot MCP endpoint

https://ecobot.com/mcp

Requirements

  • Perplexity Pro, Max, or Enterprise. Custom MCP connectors are not available on the free tier.
  • Add the connector from a desktop browser at perplexity.ai (mobile apps pick it up from your account).

Setup steps

  1. 1

    Open account connectors

In perplexity.ai, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.

  2. 2

    Add the Ecobot MCP server

Give it a name (Ecobot) and paste the endpoint URL. Leave authentication as None — the endpoint is public and read-only.

    https://ecobot.com/mcp
  3. 3

Enable in Pro Search or a Space

Toggle Ecobot on for the searches or Spaces where you want citation-first regulatory answers. Try: "Use Ecobot to look up the 2018 Great Plains Regional Supplement guidance on problematic hydric soils."

Notes & caveats

  • Enterprise admins may need to allow member-added connectors under workspace settings before individual users see the Add custom connector option.
  • Custom MCP connectors are not available on Perplexity's free tier — upgrade to Pro, Max, or Enterprise.

Ask IT to enable it

Subject
Request: add Ecobot regulatory reference to Perplexity
Body
Hi IT,

Please add the Ecobot regulatory reference as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector to our Perplexity deployment. It gives our team citation-first answers from the 1987 Corps Manual, every USACE Regional Supplement, and the 2025 National OHWM Manual — verbatim quotes with page-anchored PDF links, no synthesis.

What I need:
  • Add a custom MCP connector in our Perplexity (Perplexity AI) tenant / workspace
  • Endpoint: https://ecobot.com/mcp
  • Authentication: None (public, read-only)
  • Scope: Enable for my team (or org-wide if appropriate)

Why it matters:
  • Regulatory answers with verbatim quotes + page-anchored citations — audit-defensible
  • Reduces time spent digging through hundreds of pages of USACE guidance
  • Free to use — no license, no API key
  • Setup guide: https://ecobot.com/resources/ai/perplexity

Please let me know once it's available, or if you need anything from me to move forward.

Thanks!
